燚 (yì) is a rare Chinese character written as four 火 (fire) characters stacked together — it means fire at its fullest, energy multiplied by four. It shares its pronunciation with 逸 (yì), which means ease, freedom and unhurried comfort. yiran studio 燚然 takes its name from this pairing: the four fires stand for the four kinds of energy people most often look for in crystal jewellery — love (桃花), abundance (招財), protection (辟邪) and calm (安神) — while the homophone reminds the wearer to stay at ease while burning bright. Every yiran bracelet is built around one of these four fires, hand-strung in Hong Kong from natural crystals chosen for that intention.
